Pioneer Resident Of County Passes Mrs. Edward Plath Had Lived In County For Period of 68 Years Mrs. Edward Plath, mother of Mrs. J. R. Koplen, Mrs. Sam Manthey and Mrs. Henry Seewald of this community, died at her home in Waseca Friday at noon following an illness of two months with heart affliction. Rosina Warner Plath was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. August Warner and was born in Bromberg, Germany on August 29, 1858. Coming to America as a small child with her parents, she lived in Wisconsin for three years and then moved with them to Minnesota. On April 5th, 1874, she was married to Edward Plath of Iosco township until retiring from the farm, they moved to Waseca several years ago. They were among the early pioneer residents of the township and contributed no small share in building up the community in which they resided for so many years. Besides her husband, five daughters and one son survive the deceased. The surviving children are Mrs. J. R. Koplen, Mrs. Sam Manthey, Mrs. Henry Seewald of Janesville, Mrs. A. J. Schroeder, Mrs. Helen Lewer and Albert Plath of Waseca. The funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at two oclock from the home and at two-thirty from St. Pauls Lutheran Church with Rev. H. F. Soeldner conducting the services. The pallbearers were six grandsons as follows: Clifford Koplen, Minneapolis; Albert and Herbert Seewald, Janesville; and Laurence Lewer and Jennings and Carl Schroeder, Waseca. Interment took place in the Iosco cemetery. Among those from out of town who were present to attend the funeral services were Clifford Koplen and Miss Donna Kurtz of Minneapolis, Arthur and Minnie Warner of Boyd, Mr. and Mrs. Harold James and son of Winnebago, Mr. and Mrs. Edw. Williams and Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Roeske and daughter of Blue Earth, Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Randall and daughter of Inver Grove, Mr. and Mrs. Chris Butsch of Owatonna, Mr. and Mrs. Al Butsch of Springfield and Mrs. Herbert Kahn of Faribault.
