Biography

John Werner was born on March 3, 1848 in Ontario, Canada, son of Bernhard Werner (1812–1889) and Elizabeth Sherk (1814–1887).

John married Mary Ellsworth in 1872^[1]. Their marriage record reads:

John Warner, 22, residing and born in Rainham, bachelor, blacksmith, son of Bernhard and Elizabeth Werner, married

Mary Ellsworth, 19, residing and born in Rainham, spinster, son of Leandous N. and Anna Ellsworth,

Witnesses: Levi Werner, Rainham, and Artimisia Ellsworth, Rainham,

On May 28, 1872, at Rainham, Haldimand County.

Together they had the following children:

1. Nelson Arvin, born January 25, 1876^[2] and died four months later on May 28, 1876^[3]
2. Edward Lorenso, born in 1878^[4]

John Warner, 33, born in Rainham, blacksmith, died on the 5th of October 1879 from Typhoid Fever and Inflammation of Bowels^[5].
