Samuel Wesley was a clergyman of the Church of England, as well as a poet and a writer of controversial prose. He was also the father of John Wesley and Charles Wesley, founders of Methodism.

His Gravestone reads, he departed this life 25 of April 1735 not 5th April as in the biography on findagrave.

He died in debt and despite having spent his own money to rebuild the parsonage after it burnt down, the house was on church-owned land.*youngest child of Samuel & Susanna Wesley[1]
