Gunhild was the daughter of Godwin, Earl of Wessex and Gytha.[1][2][3] Her birth date is unknown.
In about 1068 Gunhild accompanied her mother and Gytha, daughter of her brother Harold II, to Flanders.[1] She moved from St Omer to Bruges, then for a period to Denmark, and then returned to Bruges, where she died on 24 August 1087.[3]
