Biography

Research Notes

Æthlreda has previously been shown on WikiTree as child of Edward the Exile and Agatha. There is no evidence for their having a child of this name and she has been detached. It is not clear who this profile is meant to represent.

If an Æthlreda or some such name was born in Lothian in 1042 she cannot have been a daughter of Edward and Agatha. Edward was then a teenager in exile in Hungary, or, just possibly, Russia. He did not come to England until 1057 according to the Anglo-Saxon Chronicles, and died very soon after. See his profile for more information.

In the absence of any evidence for the relationship, I have detached Aethlreda from her previously shown parents and added a research note.

I have changed it to something more appropriate. Though we do not really know who this profile represents.
