My uncle J.D. West was one of the most kind, generous and sharing men i have ever. During the late 40s he lived with his family on Colgate Street in Dallas with his wife, Jessie, and two children, Nancy Jane and J.D. Junior (Bud). He held the responsible position as Purchasing Manager for Chance Vaught Aircraft and was a life long member of the Baptist Church. J.D. never met an outboard motor, lawnmower or small motor that he could not fix, nor any home project he could not accomplish. While in High School, I built a 16 foot Chris Craft Kit boat under his guidance. He always had time for nieces and nephews.
