Benjamin F. West, son of Benjamin and Jane E. West was born about July 1850 probably in Grundy County, Illinois. He was listed as 1/12 year old in the August 1850 US Census. He appeared on the census of 17 Aug. 1850 in the home of his parents at Morris, Grundy County, Illinois.[1] He appeared on the census of 30 June 1870 in the home of his parents at Potosi, Linn County, Kansas.[2][3]
He married Gillie E. Patterson, probably about 1871, she had been living in his family's household in 1870.
He was a farmer when he and Elizabeth appeared on the census of 8 June 1880 at Shoal Creek Township, Newton County, Missouri.[4] He worked in a tie camp when he and Elizabeth appeared on the census of 10 August 1900 at Township 3, Chickasaw Nation, Indian Territory.[5] He appeared on the census of 8 May 1910 at Barnard Township, Hughes County, Oklahoma.[6]
