Biography
Robert was born about 1880 in Michigan.
He was the son of Green West and Angelina Scott, and the nephew of Civil War veteran George Scott of the 54th Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry, the first regiment in the United States made up entirely of enlisted men of color.
