James was born in 1883. He was the son of Zachariah West and Mary Ann Youd. He passed away in 1951.

"Benjamin - Funeral Services for James Albert West, 68, who died Friday at 6:30 p.m. at his home in Benjamin, will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the Benjamin Ward chapel, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, with Bishop Parley Lundall officiating.

Friends may call at the Claudin Funeral Home in Spanish Fork, Tuesday from 6 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday prior to services. Burial will be in the Spanish Fork Cemetery under the direction of the Claudin Funeral Home.

Mr. West was born Nov. 17, 1883, at Spanish Fork, a son of Zachariah and Mary Ann Youd West. He has lived his entire life in the Spanish Fork and Benjamin area. He was educated in the schools of Spanish Fork and held the office of an elder in his ward.

He was a farmer and stock raiser.

He married Eliza Ann Vincent April 2, 1913, in the Salt Lake Temple. Besides his widow, he is survived by three daughters: Mrs. Sylvia Barney, Osburn, Ida.; Mrs. Rozelda Taylor, Layton, and Mrs. Blanche Barker, Salt Lake City; six sons: Vincent West and Alan West, Todd Park; Ray and Ralph West, Salt Lake City; Willard West, Benjamin, and Reed West, Provo; 12 grandchildren and four brothers, Joseph West, Spanish Fork; Arthur West, Palmyra; Lewis West, Salt Lake City, and Ed West, and one sister, Mrs. Annie Edwards, Provo."
