Biography

James West was born on the 10th December 1702 to James and Ann West of Wartling, Sussex. The birth was recorded in the Warbleton Quaker register, Sussex.

James West (age 20) and Ann Hall (age 17) were married on 6th June 1723 at St Bartholomew's Church, Maresfield, Sussex.

James and Ann quickly went on to have five daughters who were all baptised at St Mary Magdalene's Church, Wartling, Sussex: Ann 1723/24 (just 7 months after the marriage), Sarah 1725, Mary 1729, Elizabeth 1732, and Barbara 1738.

James died (age 50), and he was buried on 19th April 1753 at All Saints Church, Herstmonceux, Sussex (a source for this is to be confirmed).
