Caroline West (1850-1904). Phillip and Caroline had 6 children named Charles, Winfield, Harvey, Eunice, Manda and Samuel. The 1900 United States Federal Census shows some of them at Hannibal, Missouri, including Caroline (widowed), Harvey (24 and married), Manda (18 and married) and Samuel (13 and living with his mother). The boys worked at the local powder plant. Caroline got a pension of $8 per month until her death in 1904. She took in laundry and they owned nothing. *
