The Isaac West who was the Revolutionary War patriot was not the father of Stephen West. Unfortunately, DAR can no longer be considered [2]

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Isaac by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Isaac:

James, you can removed the research note if you consider it incorrect. It appears it belongs to West-4599

I've corrected it, Beryl. I have been untangling these two men for years. Unfortunately, DAR inaccurately lists Stephen as a son of Isaac West.
