William West is acknowledged by the DAR for both patriotic and active duty in the militia. His served as a Major in the 3rd Pennsylvania Battalion, also as a Captain. He was a POW at Fort Washington.[1]
William West as born 7 March 1724 in Chester County, Pennsylvania. William was the son of John West and Sarah Pearson.
William West`s first marriage was to Sarah Ennis Jan 1753 or 18 Mar 1753. Sarah's marriage to William was her second marriage. [2][3][4]
After the death of his first wife Sarah, William married Hannah Shaw around 1767.[5]

There are several different marriage dates for William and Sarah Ennis. Needs to verify which is the correct date. Need to verify children to each wife.
Would like to find more information on his Revolutionary War records. William was born in 7 Mar 1723/4. Married: 1) Sarah Ennis 2) Ann Shaw. Son William m. Ann Brinton; son John m. Hannah Ball. Service sourced from History Regiment of Off. of Continental Army, Heitman Page 582 as per his DAR record.
