Biography

Mary West was born about 1750, possibly in Rochester, Plymouth, Province of Massachusetts Bay, the birthplace of her sister Elizabeth. This estimate makes her about 20 years old at marriage.

She was the daughter of William West and Jane West.^[1][2][3]

Mary married John North 12 Oct 1770 at Saint John's Anglican in Cornwallis, Kings, Colony of Nova Scotia.^[1][2][3]

Her husband refers to his wife Mary in his Will written 4 Feb 1807. He adds a 16 Dec 1815 Codicil to the effect that she has already died.^[11]

Research Notes

Wright gives her death as 1784.^[2] No corresponding death records were found on Ancestry and FamilySearch.

Some genealogies have him marrying Mary Jones in 1812. No corresponding marriage records have been found and he doesn’t mention a living wife in the 1815 Codicil.
