Biography
Daughter of George T. West & Mary "Sally" (Barker)West.
Elizabeth married Joseph P. Buchanan 5 Jun 1824 in Campbell County, KY. To this union, four children were born: Joseph Lancaster, Pauline, Florida & George G.
Joseph died in 1844 in Pendleton County, KY.
Elizabeth, newly widowed with four young children, remarried soon afterwards, on 23 May 1844 in Pendleton County, KY to Elisha Sanders. Elisha was a widower with an infant son; Americus Demetrius Sanders, born 13 Feb 1844 in Princeton, Caldwell, KY.
1850 Federal Census shows the family living in Pendleton County, KY. All born in Kentucky.[1]

Elisha passed on in 1868 in Kansas at the age of 70. No gravestone or record has been found for him at this time.
It is noted that Elizabeth's headstone says "Buchanan" in place of "Sanders" or "West".
