"SLAYSMAN. - On the 13th May, SARAH REBECCA, beloved wife of ALEXANDER SLAYSMAN, in the 32d years of her age. 1
He knelt beside her dying bed,.
And kissed her pallid brow;.
He vainly pressed her icy hand,.
She cannot [h]eed him now.
He breathed her name in accents low,.
His tears are on his face,.
She speaks not, moves not,.
For she lies in death's last cold embrace.
He only knows that she has been.
The sunlight of his home,.
He only feels that he is left.
To walk this world alone.
BY HER HUSBAND. 1
Mother sisters and brothers don't grieve for me,.
I see the great white throne,. here behold the Jasper sea,.
And praise the three in one.
Our sister has gone to rest,.
Although it was hard to sever,.
But she has gone where she will be blest,.
And live for ever and ever. 1
Her funeral will take place on this (Tuesday) afternoon, from the residence of her father-in-law, 102 Greenmount avenue, at four o'clock. The friends and acquaintances are respectfully invited to attend without further notice.". 1
