Shubal and his wife Nancy Rice are named in the DAR Patriot Index. [1]>
First Lieutenant "Shubel" Westcott is listed as an officer (and apparently second in command) in Capt. Elisha Camp's 6th Artillery Company of BGen. Jacob Brown's New York State Militia. He and this unit were engaged in the successful First Battle of Sackets Harbor, 19 Jul 1812. His signature can be seen with other unit members on this site [1]
