Biography
Henry was born on 25 April 1897, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to William Westermann and Hermina Hafft. [1]
On 30 May 1897, he was baptised, in St. Mark's Evangelical and Reformed Church, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. His uncle Henry Hafft was the witness. [1]
In 1900, he was living with his parents and siblings, at 2951 Reese Street, Philadelphia (which they were renting from his grandmother). [2]
His father died on 18 October 1901. [3] By 1910, his mother was living in the state psychiatric hospital in Norristown. [4]
In 1910, he and his brother Herman were living in a home at 113 Wyoming Avenue, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. They were attending school. [5]
He died on 18 March 1916, in Episopal Hospital, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He died of diffuse peritonitis, with acute appendicitis contributing. He was a moulder, and lived at 172 W. Atlantic Street, Philadelphia. The informant on his death certificate was William Westermann Junior, that is, his half-brother William Hafft, who was living at 827 East Hilton Street, Philadelphia. The funeral was held from 827 East Hilton, the residence of his aunt, Clara Kennedy. On 23 March 1916, he was buried in the family plot in section M, lot 398, Greenmount Cemetery, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. [6][7][8]
