Biography

b. c.1565,1 2nd but 1st surv. s. of James Weston of Lichfield[1] and Margery Lowe, dau. of Humphrey. Married Mary Lloyd, dau. of John Lloyd, DCL, of Carnavon. ; d. 20 Feb. 1637. Son of James Weston, MP Lichfield 1584[2]

The Westons, father and son, lived at the Master's house at St John's Hospital in Lichfield. Suc. fa. 1589, Knighted Aug. 1599, served as MP Lichfield and Staffordshire.[3] High Sherrif of Staffordshire in 1610, MP Lichfield 1624, Staffordshire 1625 - 1626.[4] Nominated as recorder in the 1622 charter for Lichfield.[5]

21 Sep 1631: Listed as "my brother Symon Weston" in the will of Gabriel Lloyd of Ellerton.[6]

Sir Symon Weston is mentioned in his brother in law Gabriel Lloyd's Will (dated 1631 probate/recorded date 1632/3 "Gabriel Lloyd of Ellerton" as is his wife and daughter ... (it's my amateur transcription so check the original for accuracy)

"In the name of God Amen I Gabriel Lloyd of Ellerton in the County of Salop Esquire beinige in perfecte health of body mind and memory (thanked be to Almighty God) Doe upon this one and twentyday of September in the yeare of our Lord God one thousand sixe hundred thirtie and one 1631 make this my particular last will and testament That is to say first I committ my soule and body to Almighty God my Creator Redeemer and sanctifier most humbly beseechinge him to have mercy and compassion on me for the death and passiones sake of his sonne ??? my saviour Christ Jesus ????  ???? for my temporal goods I bequeath them in manner and forme followinge Inprinms I give to my beloved wife the sume of five pounds of good and lawful money of England Item I give and bequeath to my brother Symon Weston Knight for a remembrance one ringe of the valeu of twentie shillinges Item to my sister Weston Lady to the ???? Symon one ringe likewise of the valeu of twenty shillinges Item I give to my neece the Lady Ridgway daughter to the ???? Symon one ringe of the valeu of twenty shillinges.
