Biography

Arthur Weston is an Anzac who served in World War One.

Arthur E Weston was born before 1905.

Mr. Arthur Weston purposes leaving Gilgandra at the end of August, when he will join the Brotherhood of the Good Shepherd as a lay member. He has occupied the position of lay preacher for the last couple of years. The Dubbo Liberal and Macquarie Advocate 8 Aug 1916.

He married Mary Zouch in 1925 at Chatswood, New South Wales.[1]

The marriage was celebrated on January 28, at St. Stephen's Church of England, Willoughby, of Miss Mary Zouche, eldest daughter of Mrs. M. E. Zouche, of Chatswood, and the late Captain R. E. Zouche, D.S.O., to Rev. Arthur Weston, of Parkes, third son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Weston, of Gilgandra. The Bishop of Bathurst (Right Rev. Dr. G. M. Long) officiated. The bride, who was given away by her brother, Mr. Henry Zouche, was gowned in blue embossed morocaln, and carried a sheath of salmon pink gladioli. Miss Bright Zouche attended her sister as bridesmaid, and wore apricot ninon. Her bouquet was of copper-colourod roses, tied with brown tulle. Mr. Albert White was best man. The reception was held at Selkirk, Havilan street, Chatswood, the home of the bride's mother, who was gowned in grey beaded morocaln, and carried a posy of red roses. Rev. and Mrs, Weston left later for Austinmer, the bride travelling in a frock of brown embroidered morocain, with a hat to tone, trimmed with shaded wallflower.

Archdeacon A. E. Weston, of Bathurst, has accepted the Anglican parish of Norwood, Adelaide, as from August 1. He has been associated with the Bathurst Diocese since he was first ordained deacon and priest in 1922. From 1921 to 1934 he was rector of Parkes, and his brother, Archdeacon Frank Weston, was rector of the neighbouring parish, Forbes. Archdeacon Frank Weston is now rector of Unley, South Australia, which is the neighbouring parish to Norwood.
