Biography

Thomas JOHNSON aka Alfred WESTON. (Western Australia, Australia, Convict Records, 1846-1930) convicted of- (arrival year 1863) 6th Oct 1881. Sentence- 3 yrs Penal Servitude. Birth year-1837. place of trial- Middlesex.

(1) Appears to have been convicted to a sentence on 2 Jan 1878, discharged 16 Jan 1878, on a charge of Unlawful Wounding. his trade was given as carpenter. Notation: 'Remission of 1 month granted vide letter of sup of convicts 27.08.1878 no. 14194/33 for services as Polisher in Fremantle Prison".

(2) On 16 April 1890 convicted to 5 years penal servitude on a charge of 'Larceny from the person' to be served at Fremantle, discharge date set at 16 April 1895.

FUNERAL.

  • WESTON.-The Friends, of the late Alfred Weston, late of Fremantle; and beloved husband of Lydia Weston, and father of Mrs. Gener, Mrs. Kearaley, Mrs. Lenke. Mrs. Wilson, Alfred and Edward (on active service), are notified that his remains will be interred in the Anglican. portion of the Karrakatta Cemetery. The Funeral is appointed to arrive at the Cemetery THIS DAY (Monday) February 5, at 3 p.m Friends wishing to attend the Funeral may proceed by the 8.30 p.m. trains leaving Perth and Fremantle.
