WARNING This profile may have been affected by the J Montgomery Seaver Fraud- see research notes below.
Martha Westropp was born about 1714. She was the daughter of Ralph Westropp of Caherduggan, County Cork, and Hannah Roberts.[1]
On 2 February 1733/34 in County Cork, she married Randal Roberts of Britfieldstown, County Cork.[1][2] A marriage settlement was made on 1-2 February 1733 (1733/34), with a deed of lease and release lodged on 12 November 1748.[3][4][5]
NOTE: Her son John Roberts is being researched as he is not supported by the current sources.
Research Notes
The Roberts Baronets of Glassenbury accepted this Britfieldstown line as their descendants but it is still debated. This is a separate issue to the J Montgomery Seaver fraud.
There are conflicting death dates and places. She did not die in 1810, that was Mary Kift, the wife of Randal Roberts of Bridgetown.
As this Roberts line has been the victim of genealogy fraud by J Montgomery Seaver all profiles are being researched to find credible sources to authenticate the pedigree. Please do not rely on the information until this is completed. Some of the information in the Seaver books is correct.
