Together they became the parents of Marie Sophie "Mariechen" (Braeutigam) Beal, Sophie Braeutigam, Emilie Elsie (Braeutigam) Kott Beal, Martha Mathilda (Braeutigam) Kott LaBelle, Christine Lena (Braeutigam) Brodie, Ernest William Braeutigam, Margaret Gretchen Cornelia (Braeutigam) Grasso, August Richard Braeutigam, Herman Arno Braeutigam, and Bertha Alma Braeutigam) Gibson Swearingen.
Bertha passed away November 18, 1940 at Jewett, Leon Co., Texas[2] and was buried at Sardis Cemetery in Jewett.
