Lewis C. Wheat, son of Joseph and Eisa (Treat) Wheat, was born in 1847 in Elmira, Chemung County, New York.[1][2] He appeared on the census of 3 July 1860 in the home of his parents at Big Flats, Chemung County, New York.[3]
He married Sophronia Darran.[4]
He was a laborer when he and Sophronia appeared on the census of 14 June 1880 at Van Etten, Chemung County, New York.[5]
He married Mary F. Froming, daughter of August and Wilimina (Wilkie) Froming, on 4 April 1911 at Horseheads, Chemung County, New York.[2]
Lewis died on 18 May 1916 probably at Elmira, Chemung County, New York and was buried at Woodlawn Cemetery, Elmira, Chemung County, New York. His memorial has a photo of his headstone and links to those of family members.[6]
