Elizabeth Wheeler was born on 17 May 1829 in Fort Edward, Washington, New York, United States to Lewis J. Wheeler (1792-1887) and Mary Robinson (1791-1852).

  1. Martin William Wheeler was born on 30 September1808 in Cattaraugus County, New York, United States. He married Sarah E. Hamilton (1812-1886) in 1834. Martin died on 1 February 1874 in Yorkshire, Cattaraugus, New York, United States.
  2. John G. Wheeler was born on 28 June 1811 in Delevan, Cattaraugus, New York, United States. He married Miranda Unknown (born 1810) in about 1835. The last record found for him was the 1870 United States Census in Troy, Rensselaer, New York at the age of 59.
  3. Adeline Wheeler was born on 5 March 1815 in Fort Edward, Washington, New York, United States. She married Benjamin L. Johnson (1805-1870) c. 1838. Adeline died after June 1880 when she was seen living with her daughter Mary in Carrollton, Cattaraugus, New York at the age of 65.
  4. George L. Wheeler was born on 26 July 1817 in Fort Edward, Washington, New York, United States. He married Sara Jane Boggs (1817-1892) on 4 July 1842 in Farmersville, Cattaraugus, New York. George died on 23 December 1906 in Lodomillo, Clayton, Iowa, United States.
  5. William Henry Wheeler was born on 1 January 1819 in Fort Edward, Washington, New York, United States. He married Rebecca Lindsay (1826-1907) on 4 July 1845. William died on 19 September 1913 in Allegany, Cattaraugus, New York, United States.
  6. Annis Wheeler was born on 3 April 1820 in Fort Edward, Washington, New York, United States. She married Nathan A. Boutelle (1818-1888) on 15 August 1841 in Little Valley, Cattaraugus, New York. Annis died on 27 June 1852 in Ayersville, Defiance, Ohio, United States.
  7. Charles M. Wheeler was born on 12 May 1821 in Fort Edward, Washington, New York, United States. He doesn't appear to have ever married. Charles died after 16 February 1892 when he appeared on the New York State Census of that date living with his sister Helen Wheeler (1837-1922), who was married to Roswell Spaulding.
  8. Mary Ann Wheeler was born in July 1824 in Fort Edward, Washington, New York, United States. She married Elen Northrup (1822-1900) in 1850. Mary died after 1905.
  9. Ruben Wheeler was born on 31 January 1826 in Fort Edward, Washington, New York, United States. He died c. 1839. He was not on the 1840 United States Federal Census with his family. Even though it was tally only, it did not show his age group.
  10. Joseph A. Wheeler was born on 11 September 1832 in Fort Edward, Washington, New York, United States. He married Eunice R. Shirline (1839-1925), his stepsister, on 16 September 1854 in Yorkshire, Cattaraugus, New York. Joseph died on 23 December 1913 in Allegany, Cattaraugus, New York, United States.
  11. Thaddeus Chad Wheeler was born on 13 September 1833 in Fort Edward, Washington, New York, United States. He married Betsey E. Shirline (about 1837-1904), his stepsister, in about 1859 in New York. Thaddeus died on 4 September 1869 in Allegany, Cattaraugus, New York, United States.
  12. Helen M. Wheeler was born on 4 October 1837 in Yorkshire, Cattaraugus, New York, United States. She married Roswell Spalding (1827-1920) in about 1858 as his second wife. Helen died on 4 January 1922 in Olean, Cattaraugus, New York, United States. [1] [2]

  2. Eva D. Wheeler was born in 1857 in Yorkshire, Cattaraugus, New York, United States. She married Sam Pauley (1851-1885) in about 1872. Eva died in about 1919 as her husband was widowed in the 1920 United States Federal Census.

Marriage and Family

She married Jacob Karne Myers (1821-1905) on 28 March 1849 in Clermont County, Ohio. Probably his second wife as there are 3 children on the 1850 United States Federal Census with Jacob and Elizabeth. They were Benjamin 8, John W. 7 and Harriet A. 4. They were the children of first wife Sarah Jane Wellman (1823-1848). Although Sumner Bryant Myers should be here also.

  1. Orlando Orren Myers was born on 24 April 1851 in Ohio, United States. He married Sarah Samantha Settlemire (1850-1923). Orlando died on 15 January 1930 in Defiance, Defiance, Ohio, United States.
  2. Sarah Myers was born c. 1851, could be twin of Orlando. No other record available.
  3. Alvero Pembrock Myers was born on 8 February 1856 in Ohio, United States. He married Sophia J. Bissonette (1860 - 1949 ) on 8 February 1879 in Henry County, Ohio. Alvero died on 26 June 1926 in Henry County, Ohio, United States.
  4. May Eliza Ada Myers was born on 15 April 1860 in Defiance, Defiance, Ohio, United States. She married twice. 1) John Powell Allen (1849-1923) c. 1881 and 2) Samuel Boday (1856-1931) c. 1923. May died on 21 January 1939 in Fostoria, Seneca, Ohio, United States.
  5. William Arnam Myers was born on 13 December 1865 in Defiance County, Ohio, United States. He died on 2 October 1882 in Defiance, Defiance, Ohio, United States.

Death and Burial

Elizabeth died on 6 April 1886 in Ayersville, Defiance, Ohio, United States at the age of 56 years, 10 months, 22 days. There is a stone and it is difficult to read, but gives name of husband and her age at death. She was buried in the Hill Cemetery, Ayersville, Defiance, Ohio. Find A Grave: Memorial #147121237
