Biography

Anne Wheeler was born abt 1674 and died aft. Jun 1762)[1], the daughter of James (1656-1684) and 2nd wife, Katherine Wheeler.

She married Hilleary Ball and second Mr. Scandrell/Scanlen.[2] after 1710.

She died after Jun 1762 ("Aged 80 years") in Prince George's County, Maryland when she was present at a boundary dispute of Brother's Delight[3]

Therefore, we command you any three or two of you to examine all witnesses or persons concerned touching their knowledge of the bounds of the said tract. *Witness Joseph Belt, Jr., Gentleman, August 25, 1758. Issued September 14, 1758, Joseph Sim, Clk By virtue of a commission to examine evidences to prove the bounds of "Brothers Delight" hereby give notice that we intend to meet at the lands on Saturday, February 17th next. Witness our hands and seals this January 5, 1759, Francis King, John Sutton Being on a south hill side near a small old field and on the east side of the Quarter Branch where there is put a large stone we took the following depositions James Wheeler aged 81 or thereabouts deposes that about 55 years ago Hilleary Ball showed this deponent a bounded gum standing at or near the place where is now put a large stone and told him it was the first bound tree of "Brothers Delight" and that Dorman Walker had several times showed him the same gum and further saith not being now on the north side of a small branch that runs into Quarter Branch at a red oak stump where now is put a stone we took the following deposition Ann Scandall (Scandlen) aged 80 deposes and says that the tree which he now sits on the stump of about 47 years ago her former husband Hilleary Ball showed her and told her it was the last bound tree of "Brothers Delight" in the 1st bound tree of "Sisters Delight" and further saith not. Taken by us Francis King, Jonathan Burch, John Sutton"
