Marilyn,

Thanks for the catch. I have corrected my error.

Are you a member of the Putnam family?

Ann

Marilyn,

Yes, that Edward Putnam b: 1654 was known as Deacon Edward. That is what is shown in my tree. I am confused about your message.

Hi Marilyn, Thank you for the message and questions!

There is no option at WikiTree to delete a profile once it is created, the duplicate profiles have to be merged into one single profile.

Please make sure to look for duplicates on WikiTree before adding a profile. Having dates and locations attached to every person assists in our mission as well - if you have pre-1700's ancestors to add please read our Pre-1700 profiles info.

Please review our Matching and Merging FAQ to understand your responsibilities in doing merges.

During a merge, the text from the merged-away profile is appended to the end of the text of the merged-into profile. After a merge, you will need to clean up the text by removing duplicate information and consolidating what is left leaving the profile with a single Biography section and a single Sources section.

And I'm here to help too, just ask!

Sorry about that, Marilyn. But the Georges are right. Anne Rittenhouse and the Jacob that belongs to her need to be removed somehow. I can remove the relationship between Anne and George and change Anne's first name(s). This might be a question for the forums...
What's your concern about their son? I don't see how this changes anything for him. The tricky part will be what to do about all those children that don't belong to them. And yes, Anna Rittenhouse is the only wife.

Hi Marilyn,

You've been a member of WikiTree for about a week so I thought I would check in to see how it's going. The New Member How-Tos are for you to work at your own pace. If you had a chance to review any of it, was it helpful?

If you have questions about how WikiTree works, I'm here to help. Just click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page. I'll get back to you by the end of the day.

PS Did you discover that the surname tags on your profile are clickable links? Each will take you to a page of other people who research the surname and a bunch of links which might be helpful.

Thank you Marilyn for self-certifying for the Pre-1700 badge. Now it is time to pick a project for the 1700's profiles.

It looks like Project:United_States_History United States History would be a good fit with the contributions you entered. Adding the tag United_States_History  will help you get updates about activity for that project. Please ensure location data matches date of profile

Is there a particular time period, location, or topic you're interested in? Check the list of active projects to see if one better fits your needs.m/wiki/Help:Projects active projects

Thank you for your contributions to the community's shared tree.

Do you have any questions? Let me know. I'm happy to help :-)

Hi Marilyn,

If you add dates (eg. 1800's, mid 1900's etc.) and relationships (Parents, Grandparents etc) to your geographical information, it will make it easier for others to find you.
