Claude Wheeler was born on 30 July 1893 in Wayne Township, Belmont, Ohio. ^[1]

In 1900, the Wheeler family lived in Wayne Township, Belmont, Ohio. All members of the household were born in Ohio. The household included William H. Wheeler, 53, born January 1847, a farmer, whose father was b. Maryland, and whose mother was b. Ohio. William was out of work for eight months of the previous year. He owned their farm without a mortgage; his wife of 18 years (married about 1882), Mary, 44, b. March 1856, whose father was b. WV and whose mother was b. Ohio. Mary had had nine children, seven of whom were living; their seven sons: Dairl, 17, b. Sept 1883, a farm laborer who had been out of work two months; Glen R., 14, b. Nov 1886, in school; Clate, 11, Nov 1889, in school; Tack, 9, b. Oct 1891, in school; Claude, 7, b. July 1893; Okey, 5, b. Aug 1895; and Dewey, 2, b. May 1898. ^[2] NOTE: some of the children had very unusual names. All have been verified by other documents. However, DAIRL has been seen also as Henry D.; Henry Dart; and Dairl. ^{[3] [4] [5]}

Claude C. Wheeler married Lucinda Harmon, 20, on 6 June 1914 in Beallsville, Belmont, Ohio, the first marriage for both parties. Claude is the son of William H. and Mary A. (Milhoan) Wheeler. ^[6]

In 1930, they lived in Perry, Licking, Ohio. The household included Claude, an oil field foreman, who was not a veteran; his wife Lucinda; and their three children: Donald J., 14; Glenford R., 13; and Grace E., 11. ^[7]

In 1948, their address was rural Nashport RFD #2, Perry, Licking, Ohio. They had lived in the community for 24 years. Lucinda died on 21 March 1948 in Perry, Ohio. She was 54. Cause of death was heart and renal disease. The informant to her death was her husband, Claude ( b. 1893). Lucinda was buried 24 March 1948 in Smith Chapel Cemetery. ^[8]

Claude died in 1971 at the age of 67-68. He is buried with his wife Lucinda in Smith Chapel Cemetery, Newark, Licking, Ohio. ^[9]
