Jonathan was born in 1724 Rowley, Massachusetts to parents Jonathan Wheeler and Ann Plummer.[1]

Marriage and Children
Probably at Salem, Rockingham County, New Hampshire Jonathan Wheeler III married Esther Kimball, daughter of Richard Kimball and Jemima Gage, before 1753 the year of their first child's birth documented by vital records. Their following known children were all born in Salem, Rockingham, New Hampshire again as shown by the town's Vital Records:

-Haverhill, Massachusetts 10 miles SW of coastal Newburyport in the northeastern most area of MA at that time. The original Haverhill colony resided on the north side of the Merrimack River which empties into the Atlantic through Newburyport, Massachusetts. For a time the boundary of Haverhill fluctuated between Massachusetts and New Hampshire. -Bradford, Massachusetts, about 4 miles S of Haverhill on the south side of the Merrimack River. -Salem, New Hampshire is about 5 miles due W of Haverhill. -Rowley, Massachusetts is about 7 miles due S of Newburyport
