Probably at Salem, Rockingham County, New Hampshire Jonathan Wheeler III married Esther Kimball, daughter of Richard Kimball and Jemima Gage, before 1753 the year of their first child's birth documented by vital records. The original Haverhill colony resided on the north side of the Merrimack River which empties into the Atlantic through Newburyport, Massachusetts. For a time the boundary of Haverhill fluctuated between Massachusetts and New Hampshire. -Bradford, Massachusetts, about 4 miles S of Haverhill on the south side of the Merrimack River. -Salem, New Hampshire is about 5 miles due W of Haverhill. -Rowley, Massachusetts is about 7 miles due S of Newburyport
