Allen Wheeler was born in Pike Township, Coshocton County, Ohio, United States, about 1833.^[2] He was the son of Dewey Wheeler and Esther Van Winkle.^[2]

Allen died in Coshocton County, Ohio, 27 Feb 1901, at age 78.^[3] He's buried in Coshocton County's Newcastle Cemetery.^[3]
