Biography
George Washington Wheeler was born in Boston, Massachusetts, on February 22, 1811, the son of John and Elizabeth (Fenno) Wheeler.[1][2]
He married Harriet Stowell, daughter of Samuel and Abigail (Heywood) Stowell, in Worcester on June 2, 1836. Children, all born in Worcester:[1][2]
- Harriet Elizabeth Wheeler, born June 14, 1839; died December 11, 1839.[1]
- George Washington Wheeler, born October 6, 1840; died December 5, 1903, aged 63, at Shrewsbury, Massachusetts.[1]
- Mary Grosvernor Bangs Wheeler, born August 13, 1845; married, June 13, 1871, Frederick William Ward; died July 3, 1882, aged 36.[1]
George Wheeler died in Worcester on December 24, 1883, aged 72.[1] He is buried at the Worcester Rural Cemetery in Worcester.[2]
