Does anyone know the author of the PDF "The Descendants of Thomas Wheeler (9422)" at

https://mafiadoc.com/descendants-of-thomas-wheeler-9422-gulbangicom_59cc7f481723ddab3bbdff7a.html? It looks well researched (lots of footnotes) but no author is identified.

This looks to be an ancestor report from Family Tree Maker, it looks just like the ones I produce. So it's from somebody's tree on ancestry.com and fortunately they actually kept the original source citations. IMHO the best hands down which brings together prior work by Coddington, Jacobus, Brainard and earlier Wheelers along with original primary source documentation is here https://www.wikitree.com/photo.php/9/91/Wheeler_Name_Study-4.pdf by Raymond David Wheeler and Gordon Boyce Wheeler

Has anyone ever sighted this copy of the list of knights created after the Battle of Stoke, which was found inside a copy of Chess for Dummies?

I haven't seen a copy of the handwritten list, but the man who supposedly wrote it, John Writhe, would certainly have had the knowledge and authority to do so. He was Garter Principal King of Arms (the chief officer of the College of Arms) under three kings, Edward IV, Richard III, and Henry VII, serving from 1478 to 1504. As for the book into which it was supposedly inserted, William Caxton's "The Game and Playe of the Chesse" was first published in 1483, so Writhe could certainly have had a copy. He may even have known Caxton personally as he (Caxton) was a friend of the two Yorkist kings (Edward and Richard). None of this proves that the list existed, but the details are plausible.
