Mary Wheeler was born at Stow, Massachusetts on November 5, 1707, daughter of Deliverance Wheeler and and Mary Davis. [1][2]
Mary married Abraham Gibson at Newbury, Massachusetts on on September 29, 1724. [3] Abraham of Sudbury and Stow, Massachusetts was the first child of Deacon Timothy Gibson and Rebecca Gates, was born at Stow in 1701. [2]
1725/6: January 8: Abraham Gibson was deeded 10 acres of great meadow from brothers-in-law Deliverance and Thomas Wheeler for L30. [2]
Abraham died at Stow on November 8. 1740. [1] he is buried in the Lower Village Cemetery where his inscription reads: Here Lies Buried ye Body of Mr Abraham Gibson Who departed This life Nov ye 8 A.D. 1740 Age 39 years 1 m & 9d.[2]
His estate was inventoried on January 6, 1741 and assessed at L1484: 12: 7 including L1000 in real estate, his widow Mary was executor. [2][4]
After his death, his widow Mary married Deacon Daniel Hapgood [2] as his second wife, intentions published at Stow on July 6,1745/6. [1] Daniel was born about 1706, son of Nathaniel Hapgood and Elizabeth Ward. [5]
On April 11, 1746, Mary Hapgood, petitioned the court to appoint guardians for Sarah, Abraham and Ephraim Gibson, the 3 youngest children of Abraham Gibson, deceased, recommending her father-in-law Timothy Gibson and brother-in-law Stephen Gibson as guardians. [6][2]
On the same April date, Rebecca Gibson, aged 18 years, daughter of Abraham deceased, chose her 'father-in-law' Daniel Hapgood as her guardian. [7]
Deacon Daniel Hapgood died at Stow on April 30, 1790. [1][5]
His will was written on August 30, 1785. In it he left bequests to: [8]
