Ronnie Lee Wheeler [1]was born in Olean, Cattaraugus, New York, United States to Cliff Wheeler (1921-2007) and Theda Lunn (1921-1980) as their only child. Shortly after Ron was born, his father entered the United States Army to fight in World War II. Cliff and Theda divorced when he returned from the war and Ron lived thereafter with his father or father's family.
His father married again on 21 April 1947 to Rosella Mae Whitwer (1928-2004).
Ron graduated from high school at Redondo Union High School in Redondo Beach, Los Angeles, California while he was living with his Uncle Hugh Wheeler and family. [2]
He completed the Emergency Medical Technician Course at Portland, Oregon for the Oregon State Division in September 1976. He completed the Oregon Department of Energy course of study in Boiler Efficiency in 1980 and in 1981 he completed a course for Emergency Medical Technician II with the Oregon State Board of Medical Examiners. In 1982 he completed a continuing education program at Oregon State University for Northwest Regional Air Medical Evacuation. In 1982 he completed a course as an Energy Auditor with the Bonneville Power Administration and the Oregon Department of Energy. Eventually 5 years of experience in Hospital Engineering and a four year membership in the Oregon Society for Engineering and 1988 a member of American Society for Hospital Engineering earned him accreditation towards a Bachelor's Degree. He also attended Walla Walla Community College for nursing 1990-1992.
Ron joined the United States Army on 24 April 1964. He completed basic training at Fort Ord in California. From there they sent him to US Army Radio School-Military Occupation Specialty (31M20) at Fort Gordon, Georgia. In September 1964 he was transferred to USAP Co. C 141st Signal Battalion, 1st Armored Division Fort Hood, Texas. Discharged April 1966.
Ronnie married twice.
Ron was an Emergency Medical Technician from 1976 - 1989. In 1980 he was appointed as Chief Engineer of Wallowa Memorial Hospital. He was a member of American Society for Hospital Engineering in 1988. He was a sworn Deputy Sheriff of the Wallowa County Deputy Sheriff's Department from 1986 - 89 and an active member of the Wallowa County Search and Rescue Team from 1985 to 1989. Ron was appointed to the Oregon State Health Division' Area Trauma Advisory Board No. 9 in 1985. He was also a Bio-Med Screener with Hewitt-Packard for Wallowa Memorial Hospital Cardiac Equipment 1985. He has been employed with Walla Walla College/University from 1997 to 2014.

Most of the family is already here. If you hit the "Family Tree & Genealogy Tools" button above, you'll see a linear tree (obviously brothers and sister, etc. would come off of an individual's profile). Obviously I'm always here to help. Your military stuff in the profile probably needs to be fixed as I don't know your out date. Those "Veteran Recognition" templates" can be found here [[1]] . There's so much useful information all over the place, it's just a matter of digging in and beginning to read and search. Glad to see you finally have the time to join. You're going to see a lot of new stuff especially on grandma's people. I'm going to put you on the trusted list for all connected Wheeler family right now. That's what you need for being able to see inside when a profile is not open, like yours and mine (living people can't be open.) I don't use red because mostly information can be found by anyone these days and it just makes it more difficult for others to include us in their research. Anyway, love to Jan and you of course.
