Obediah was born about 1792. He first married Asenath Bill who was the sister of Captain Norton Buell Bill, who Obadiah's brother served under during the 1812 war. Asenath died in 1850, and Obadiah married Hannah (last name unknown) before the 1855 census.
Research notes
Obediah sold land to Samuel Wheelock of Floyd and also Hannah Wheelock. Among early landowners in 1814 in the Bengal area (later renamed Vienna) is a John Wheelock. (See Land Records on Familysearch).
An Obediah Wheelock appears in the 1869 Oneida Directory as a Farmer of 34 acres in Vienna, along with Otis and Thaddeus Wheelock.
