Elijah was born in 1796 in Litchfield, Herkimer, New York. He was the son of Alvan Wheelock and Olive Warren. Elijah married Lucretia Taylor in 1819. They moved to Sardinia, New York in 1838. They had the following children:
Franklin W married 1) Diantha Reynolds 2) Louisa Johnson
Harrison (1822 -1864) married Jeanette Brewer (or Juliet) and moved to Iowa, served two years in the civil war, died while in service.
Addison (1824 - ) married 1) Minerva Parks
Alzina (1827 - 1851) married Albert Dawley
Mathilda (1829 - ) married Philip Frisbee, moved to Pennsylvania
Caroline (1834 - ) married William Moses, moved to Pennsylvania
Elijah passed away in October 1883.
