Alfred's parents are currently unknown. There is an Albert Wheelock Age 73 b Massachusetts in the same household in the 1860 census, which may lead to more information on Alfred's family.

In the 1850 Census, Ebenezer Borden is living in Alfred's household. According to his bio he is the son of Nathaniel Borden and Susan Rice and was born in Addison County Vermont.
