Biography
Charlotte was born on the 13th September 1813 in Taunton, Somerset, the daughter of William Whetcombe (~1770 - 1825) a hairdresser, and Meliora (Goodridge) Whetcombe (~1772 - 1829), and she was christened on the 21st May 1820 at St Mary Magdalene Church, Taunton, Somerset.[1]

Charlotte's son Thomas was born about 1838, and took her surname, so father unknown, and she was probably not married.[2]
1841 Census on the 6th June 1841 Charlotte was living in King Street, Taunton, Somerset with her son Thomas.[3]
Charlotte's daughter Charlotte was born in 1843 and was therefore born before James married her mother in 1845.[4]
Charlotte married James Knight (~1815 - ) and the marriage was registered in the 2nd quarter 1845 in Taunton, Somerset.[5]
