Caroline Whetstone Haas was born Sept. 8th, 1851, in Crawford county Ohio, and departed this life Jan. 21, 1928, in Muncie, Ind., aged 76 years, 4 months and 13 days. From Crawford county she came with her parents to Williams county. In the year 1873 she was united in marriage to Henry Haas who has preceded [misprint] her in death 23 years. To this union were born nine children, 5 of whom have preceded her to the Great beyond. She leaves to mourn their loss 4 sons, Frank of Hartford City, Ind, John and August of Muncie, Ind and Valentine of Stryker. Fourteen grand children and two great grandchildren and a host of other relatives an friends. She was one of a family of 14 children, all girls, of which four sisters remain. In later years she has made her home in Muncie, Ind. Although like most of the older generation she did not have the advantage of an education, but was always fond of reading her Bible, and in her last hours said to her son how she loved church. She was great worker and always glad if anybody had some work for her, just so her hands were kept busy. Rest dear hands, thy work is o'er. Rest in peace and toll no more. Card of Thanks. We wish to thank all who assisted in any way during the burial of our mother, to the minister and singers also do we extend our thanks.
