William was a Friend (Quaker)

Biography

William Whinery was born in 1785 in Pennsylvania, United States. He was the son of William Whinery Snr and Abigail née McMillan.

He married Margery Carroll in Columbiana, Ohio in 1811[1] and they had 11 children. William and his sons were farmers.

In the census of 1850 he was living in Butler, Ohio with his wife, 4 of their grown children a daughter in law and an infant grandchild. [2]

He died in Ohio in 1863 and was buried at Woodsdale cemetery, Guildford, Ohio. [3]

Note

The spelling of the surname is incorrect in the carrollgen source. The name was Whinery, coming from England and remained this way for a few generations after migrating to America. It became Whinnery in the generation of William's grandchildren.
