Biography

John Whipple bapt. March 9, 1640-1 in Dorchester, MA; d. Dec. 10, 1700 in Providence; m. 1st Mary Olney; m. 2nd Rebecca (Brown) Scott April 28, 1678. Children of John and Rebecca: Dorothy b. Providence; d. Sept. 10, 1728 in Warwick; m. 1st Malachi Rhodes March 8, 1699/0; m. 2nd Dec. 27, 1719, Israel Arnold. (p. 608) [1]

Hon. John Whipple, eldest son of John Sen., baptized in infancy November 7, 1641, in Dorchester, Mass., came with his parents to Providence. He married first December 4, 1663, Mary, daughter of Thomas and Mary (Small) Olney, who died about 1676. He married second, April 15, 1678, Rebecca Scott, widow of John Scott.

Malachi Rhodes, son of Malachi and Mary (Carder) Rhodes, was born about 1676; died August 17, 1714; m. March 8, 1700, Dorothy Whipple, dau. of John.

He married 2nd Dec. 24, 1719, Dorothy Rhodes, widow of Malachi Rhodes, dau. of John and Rebecca Whipple. Dorothy d. Sept. 10, 1723. He m. 3rd, Elizabeth Case, widow of William Case, and dau. of Joseph and Sarah (Holden) Stafford.(p. 14)[4]
