William Hampton WHITAKER was born in Jun 1842 in Tennessee, USA as the second child of Robert Monroe WHITAKER and Catherine M. MORRIS. He had five siblings, namely: Elizabeth P., Lorenza Dow, Felix Bell, Mary F., and Thomas Jefferson. He served in the Confederate States Army with Co. K, 2nd MS Regiment Infantry of Tishomingo County (AKA Luka Rifles). When he was 28, he married Nancie M MARTIN on 15 Jul 1870 in Chickasaw, Mississippi, USA. He died on 04 Feb 1904 in Lamar County, Texas, USA. He was buried in Mount Vernon Cemetery located in Lamar County, Texas, USA.[1]
