Biography

In 1868, Mary married Richard Whittaker. With Richard, she had three sons, with the last son being born in 1873. By 1881, Mary and her two oldest boys were living in St. Thomas, Ontario, and in the census records for that year she is listed as a widow. While no records have been found to confirm Richard's death, it is assumed that Richard died sometime between the conception of his third child and the date of the census. In 1884, she married again to Henry "Harry" Miles. With Harry, she gave birth to another son.
