Hi, Michael. I just posted a request to follow your Whitaker_DNA_Studies tag. I am hoping to link my parental Whitaker branch to the tree using DNA. I have my autosomal, my aunt's autosomal, and my father's autosomal results. My brother has taken the Big-Y at FTDNA and we are waiting for the results. I am a NEWT and would appreciate any help or advice. I have made a few profiles to connect my Whitaker line to the big tree. I will fill out the details during the Connect-a-Thon. I am confident on my father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Please take a look. Thank you, Anne Whitaker
Thanks for having a Big Heart and taking responsibility for Orphaned Profiles. You will want to read this After Adopting Orphans as it explains the special attention adopted profiles will sometimes need from their profile managers. You may also want to go through the new member help on How to manage your Watchlist.
Congratulations on certifying to work on Pre-1700 profiles! It is very important to read and understand https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:Pre-1700_Profiles These profiles for deep ancestors are shared by many and collaborating on them works best if we all follow the guidelines laid out on that page.
Thanks for joining us! I hope you're enjoying our site and our community. I just wanted to check in and see how things are going. Has the New Member How To Pages been helpful or has it left you with questions?

I am very pleased to welcome you to the WikiTree family, your contributions will go a long way to joining the world together.
I would suggest starting with the New Member How-To pages, they will save you a lot of time and frustration.
I am here to answer any question you have, no matter how trivial you may think it is. There is no such thing as a silly question. Please add as much information as you can, it all helps to turn a “name” back into a person. I hope you enjoy the site as much as I do.
One of our mentors created a tutorial for the GEDCOMpare process that others found very helpful. I hope that you will too.
Thank you for adding your DNA Test to your profile on WikiTree. Getting Started with DNA will tell you more about how DNA kits are used on WikiTree.
DNA at WikiTree provides a visual way for you to find others who have tested and have the potential of having common ancestors. To get the best results, you need to continue adding sourced profiles for your ancestors until you can connect to existing profiles in WikiTree. If you have exhausted what you know on one line, try a different one. 24 hours after you connect to an existing profile, your test will have populated on the profiles of your ancestors and their descendants, where others with potential matches may also appear.
