Biography

US Black Heritage Project
Aga Whitaker is a part of US Black heritage.

Aga was born before 1851, based on his name being listed in the bill of sale in 1851, in which he was sold by his enslaver, Dr Cary Whitaker of Strawberry Hill Planation in Halifax County, North Carolina, to Frederick Cotten, owner of Burgesstown Plantation in Leon County, Florida.[1]

Research Note

The spelling of the name Aga as well as the gender of this person is in question. It is assumed Aga is male, but that may be in error. More documentation is needed.
