Research Notes

This profile ([Whitaker-1452]) had been attached as son of Jabez Whitaker, but no evidence to support this was found. Therefore it was detached.
The datafields for this profile, when attached to Jabez, were
  • born 1634, Warwick, Virginia, American Colonies
  • died 1696, Warwick, Virginia, American Colonies
They were changed to match an apparent duplicate profile: Whitaker-964:
  • born 1645 in Warwick, Colony of Virginia
  • died 1696 in Warwick, Colony of Virginia

Most researchers have Elizabeth Pyland as his first wife. (?)

update: merge completed

Whitaker-1452 and Whitaker-964 appear to represent the same person because: Whitaker-1452 has been edited so that it can be merged with Whitaker-964. (Whitaker-1452 was detached from Jabez; no evidence found that he had a son Richard & locations & death date matched the profile for Whitaker-964, attached as son of Jabez's son William). Please merge. Thanks!

Hi! I posted the following comment on the profile for Jabez Whitaker:

Richardson lists son William, but not a son Richard, who is causing a data warning (his profile has birth in 1634; Jabez died "after 1626" - date probably based on text (it's the last date mentioned): "Captain Jabez Whitaker was in Colonial Council of Virginia, 1626".

The profile for Richard is unsourced. Any objection to detaching him as a son?

Thanks, Liz

If you have a primary source or persuasive secondary sources for his being son of Jabez, please post them. Otherwise, he needs to be detached.
