Biography

Verdi Whitbourne was born about 1891. She was the daughter of Daniel Whitbourne & Rebecca.

In 1901, Verdi was attending St John's Girl's Primary School in Dubbo and received first prize for geography in third class.[1]

Harold Austin Greentree married Verdie Whitbourne in the Holy Trinity Church, Dubbo on 15 February 1911.[2][3]

Her husband Harold died in April 1933.[4]

Verdi died in New South Wales on 20 August 1974.[5][6]

Research Notes

Her mother Rebecca died in Homebush, New South Wales on 14 January 1953.[7][8] Her husband (Verdie's father) is recorded there as Daniel (which differs from Damien in the death registration) which is consistent with the FindaGrave photo source.[9][10]

Her father may be Daniel Whitbourne (abt.1856-abt.1940), the FindaGrave source would indicate he was born about 1862. The mother does not match the death registration which is likely to be Sarah (May) Whitbourn (e.g. Victorian Birth Registration No. 13976 / 1862)
