Biography

Elizabeth (Whitbread) Parker was born in the Colony of South Australia (1836-1900)

Elizabeth was the eldest of three children of Adolphus Whitbread and Elizabeth Barrett. She was born on 10 January 1852 at Penwortham, a small town in the Clare Valley of South Australia.[1][2]

At twenty years of age Elizabeth married Charles Parker, on 31 October 1872 at a house at North Adelaide.[3] Their first six children were born in the inner northern and north western suburbs of Adelaide, before the family moved to the mid north of South Australia, where Charles took up farming. There were 12 children in total.
