Biography

Relief was born 14 March 1748, the daughter of David Whitcomb and Betty White. She first married Hooker Sawyer on Oct. 2, 1766. in Bolton, Worcestor, Massachusetts Bay. After Hooker's death, Relief married Lt. William Lincoln on 27 April 1793 in Leominster, Massachusetts. She died 27 Oct. 1786.

Hooker Sawyer was the son of Private Thomas Sawyer (1710-1797) who served in the American Revolution: 1) CAPT ROBBINS, COL WHITCOMB 2) LEXINGTON ALARM [5] Hooker Sawyer, husband to Relief Sawyer, died 12 Nov 1772 in Bolton, Mass.[6]

Death

She died 27 Oct 1786 in Leominster, Massachusetts and was buried there in Pine Grove Cemetery. [8]

Sawyer-5900 and Whitcomb-1411 appear to represent the same person because: Same parents, DOB, and birth location. Lieutenant Wm Lincoln married Relief Whitcomb Sawyer & served in the American Revolution. It was his second marriage.
