Joanna was not the daughter of Elder John White and his wife Mary Leavitt
Please do not merge with Joanna White Fiske until the parentage of both women named Joanna is established.
Joanna White (possible daughter of John and Joan West White) was born about 1627. She married Daniel Hudson, son of Daniel Hudson and Anna/Agnes Josselyn, about 1647 or 1648. Joanna and Daniel had settled in Lancaster, Massachusetts by 1664. Daniel worked as a brick maker and mason; he was involved in the building of several important buildings in eastern Massachusetts, including "the first school house at Cambridge, Massachusetts in 1647". Because of Daniel's job, as well as Indian attacks on Lancaster during King Philip's War, the family lived on and off in other towns.
Joanna, her husband, and two grandchildren were killed by Indians on September 11, 1697 in a raid at Lancaster. Two of their adult daughters were killed while in captivity soon after the raid.
Children of Joanna White and Daniel Hudson (These births were recorded at Lancaster, but likely took place elsewhere in Massachusetts, as the family was itinerant due to Daniel's job as a brick maker. It was reported that he came to Lancaster "with six children and several others were born there".)
